矢板 (やいた） sheet pile; plank; lagging: 軟弱地盤の掘削のときに、掘削後に土砂崩れが起きないように、掘削範囲の周囲に連続的に打ち込む土留め板(sheathing board). 案内矢板 guiding sheet pile, 片持ち矢板 cantilever sheet pile, 鋼矢板 steel sheet-pile, メッセル矢板 messer sheet pile, 横矢板 horizontal lagging. 
山形プレート (やまがたぷれーと）V-shaped connection metal plate （仮訳）: ＶＰプレートとも呼ばれている、Ｖ形をした構造金物。引抜き力を受ける柱と横架材などの接合部に用いる

釉薬瓦 (ゆうやくがわら） glazed roofing tile: 吸水率を抑えるため、表面を釉薬で化粧した粘土瓦 Clay tiles with a glazed surface to reduce water absorption

床束 (ゆかづか） floor post: １階床の大引を支える部材

容積率 (ようせきりつ） floor area ratio; FAR: 建築物の延床面積の敷地面積に対する割合 
用途地域 (ようとちいき） land use zone; zoning; use district: 住居、商業、工業など市街地の大枠としての土地利用を定めるもの。主に建築基準法令の規定による. It defines the land use as a general urban planning framework for residential, commercial, industrial, etc. Mainly in accordance with the Building Standards regulations.
擁壁 (ようへき） retaining wall: 土壌の安息角を超える大きな高低差を地面に設けたいときに、土壌の横圧に抗して斜面の崩壊を防ぐために設計・構築される壁状の構造物である. A wall-type structure designed and constructed to prevent slope failure against the lateral pressure of the soil when a large difference in elevation above the angle of repose of the soil is desired to be provided on the ground.
寄棟屋根 (よせむねやね） hip roof; hipped roof: 屋根形状の一種で、四方に流れを持つ屋根の形のこと. A type of roof shape that has slopes in all four directions.

ラーメン構造(らーめんこうぞう） rigid-framed structure: ＲＣ構造、鉄骨構造等で柱と梁の一体化した構造。ラーメンとはドイツ語で「枠」の意味である. A column-beam integrated structure in RC or steel structure. "Rahmen" means "frame" in German.
ラグスクリュー (らぐすくりゅー) lag screw; coach screw: 木ネジ状の頭がナットタイプの金物。ホールダウン金物・火打金物などの留め付けに用いる
ラスモルタル (らすもるたる) lath mortar: 鉄線を編んだワイヤラス(wire lath) などを下地にしたモルタル仕上げ. A mortar finish applied on a wire lath or other woven steel wire. ラスモルタル塗 mortar finish on metal lathing

リシン吹付け (りしんふきつけ）sprayed lithin finish : 外壁仕上げの一つ。One of the exterior wall finishes. モルタルなどの湿式工法の外壁下地材に用いられるもの。モルタル刷毛引の上に合成樹脂系やセメント系の砂壁状の吹付材を吹き付けて仕上げる. Used as a base material for mortar and other wet construction methods of exterior walls. Finished by spraying a synthetic resin or cement-based sandwall-like spray-on material onto a mortar brush finish surface.

枠組壁工法 (わくぐみかべこうほう）platform frame method; two-by-four construction: 基礎を含めたスケルトンとよばれる構造躯体と、設備や仕上げ、間仕切り壁などのインフィルとよばれる、二つの要素から成り立っている. A construction frame system consisting of the structural frame, which is called the skeleton, including the foundation, and the infill which includes the equipment, finishes, and partition walls. 
割栗石 (わりぐりいし） rubble; broken stone: 岩石を打ち割ってつくる小塊状の石材のこと
